First of Days

The First of Days
The first days of tour were on the unordinary or even weird side. I woke up the time I was scheduled to meet up with Smartbomb in their compound located in the depths of the boonies somewhere westward in the outskirts of Worcester. Dazed from events from the night prior, I booted back to my house to gather the items I carelessly packed.
We planned to meet at Guitar Center in Millbury Ma. Driving faster than Flash himself I met up on time, meted and greeted and planned to leave. But a speed bump prevented us from leaving the parking lot let alone show in Haverhill. We didn’t know we’d be spending the next 7 hours in this very spot. The bus was broke down, this fine triton V10 bus known as Sacred Blue wouldn’t even turn over.
All of us being ‘novice’ mechanics, to put it lightly, analyzed the problem and came to the conclusion that is was the starter. Perkins, while getting down and dirty underneath the bus somehow managed to get a chunk of rust stuck in his eye. With the help of Widing’s surgical skills, he extracted the huge chunk of decaying steal with finesse and the help of a condom wrapper. It seemed that our steak of unfortunate events would never end.
Not knowing how to fix this problem we gave Perkins’s pops Darrell, a jingle. The next few hours were skating, Frisbees, burritos, and anything else to keep us occupied. After we spent $250 in parts and installed them with the help of Darrell, we went to try to start it for the 167th time. One little trick to starting a vehicle: YOU NEED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK IN ORDER FOR IT TO START. We fucked up and had a good time doing it. We ended up making it to the Haverhill show.
The venue was Welfare records, located on the banks of the Merrimack river. A scenario similar to where mobs dump bodies after a ‘hit’. We met up with our fellow tour partners Hit the Switch for the first time. They are a bunch of rad guys fro So Cal, and we are all amped to be touring together. The two bands are definetly a killer combo, be sure to check them out.
